Have you ever noticed that
Cruella De Vil's name (in 101 Dalmatians)
sounds like Cruel Devil?
I just noticed that today while
my daughter was running her 101 Dalmatians movie.
Have you ever noticed that?
Do you think Disney did that on purpose?
He was good about slipping things into his movies.

I think her name was meant to sound like that, make her sound more devilish and evil!!! I dont watch Disney movies often as I dont have any children but when I worked with children I would watch a few. Its amazing what stuff you notice as adults about films that you watched as a child!!

Yes, I had noticed that. It was intentional. The name was originally used in Dodie Smith's 1956 novel "One Hundred and One Dalmations," and it was carried over to the film based on the book.

Yes and I think that its a fun way of naming a character inspired by the role. lol. I think its really cute naming characters such way and I believe that Cruella De Vil was intentional. With lots of creativity, a character or a scene or a story can be a lot more interesting.

Yeah, I noticed that one years ago. I definitely think it was a clever play on a name, and that that is how he intended it to sound. You are 101% right that he was good at slipping things like that into his movies. There are some really clever one sou there if you listen closely.
