i have't turned off my laptop for about 48 hours...

well, i cans till type and create posts here in mylot that's why i can see that my laptop is still okay. i am currently downloading movies from the internet that's why i don't turn my system yet...
how about you, how long do you usually turn on your PC?

I usually keep it on as long as i'm awake, but there have been cases when it had to stay on more than 24 hours. I would say that the max was about 40 hours. Computers are built to work non-stop, unfortunately, the operating systems don't. XP will crash about 3 or 4 days of work, whilst others even faster. If you want long periods of power-up, you should try Linux, especially server editions, which have a better memory management than the operating systems from Microsoft.

My longest is about 4 days cause we were making our case study that was due a day before exams. We manage to finish it and my computer is fine since i have 3 fans to cool it down and a UPS.

just keep it well ventalated and it will be ok, i keep my laptop on a metal briefcase (when im laying with it on my bed) which allows good circulation for the fan and stuff so it stays cold. i normally leave my laptop on for around 12hours at a time, i mean, i go on it when i get in at about 10, then i stay on it till about 12 then leave it on to download whilst i sleep then turn it off when i wake up.
