So, we went to see the lawyer today, cuz you do that when you are buying a house. I had a couple of unwlecome little surprizes. I find that it will cost me twice what I thought it would for closing costs, but that, as a first-timer, I can apply to get my land transfer taxes re-imbursed. Man, government and red tape is the worst! Now money is going to be significantly tighter than we originally planned, but it is still do-able, anyways. Man, with one month to go till closing, that is a bit of a shocker. I'm glad we left a cushion in the "sh it happens" column of the budget, I'll tell you.
