Adopting an orphan.

Have you ever visited an orphanage. Here we have so many orphanages and I very often visits them.I feel very sad when think about those poor children.Had they got the oppurtunities and facilities as other children they would excel in their fields.I often think of adopting a child from the orphanage or at least sponsoring a child.Don't you think it would be nice to adopt rather than sponsor.Because while sponsoring the attachment is over when the sponsorship is over but the case is different in case of adopting a young child. If you are wiling to adopt a child will your spouse permits u?

There are no orphanages here where I live. The children here are put in foster homes until adoption. My sister just completed an adoption of a little girl 4 yrs of age. She is a family member from Florida, her mother was proven unfit to keep her and a relative (my sister) was given the option of adopting her. We call her(the little girl) Kimmie, she is a handful too, Kimmie has Aspergers a form of ADHD, we all love her.

Convey Kimmie my regards too. Here we don't have foster homes and many of them suffer from poor management and lack of funds.Hope that one day there will be a new system to take care of these poor children

my hubby's sister adopted 2 little orphan chinese girls. they are 2 and 5 and i would love to do the same, but my health would not permit it nor would our finances as it cost them about $20,000 to adopt each child!

Oh that's a great act of charity from your hubby's sister. Here it doesn't even costthe 1/10 for adoption ,the only thing is that you need the financial capability to maintain a child in a reasonable manner, maybe due to the umpteen number of orphans.

I would love to adopt a child. It's my dream to have a little girl who I can love and spoil and raise to become a wonderful person. I would like 4 kids. 2 of each, but even 1 would be wonderful. I need a husband first. If I ever get married, India is on the top of my list for adopting from.
