Final thoughts on the MoraChat debacle

For those of you who missed all of the excitement, last week Thursday I was banned from another forum, MoraChat. I posted a chat here and a blog on Yuwie about it at the time which got a lot of interesting responses. For the record, I was not banned because I had broken the rules. I was banned because I made the foolish assumption that the Admin over there was a reasonable person who could accept disagreement. I took exception to some of the things that he said in his warning to me and the PM that followed it. So, bottom line, I was banned for arguing. I kept copies of as many of the PMs as I could before I was kicked out and they support my position. Unfortunately I do not have the last one in which I was told that I was being banned for arguing. Oh well, c'est la vie. One thing that surprised me a bit was the number of people who came forward here, on Yuwie and via PM to tell me that they had also been treated rudely or knew of other people who had been treated rudely. Two people also provided me with copies of what they were saying about me over on MoraChat. Basically they are sticking to their story that I was banned for breaking the rules. They are not producing any of the PMs to support their point. Big surprise, that. lol One person also provided me information regarding MoraChat's advertisers and recommended that I write to them and also ask the other people who had come forward to write to them. It also occurred to me to get back on there (I'm not stupid - there are ways) and present my side of the story with quotes from the PMs to support my case. But why bother? I really don't think that they will listen to anything I say, evidence or no evidence. It won't get me back on there and why would I want to go back there anyway? I like it here. lol So, much as this OCD person (well my evil twin anyway) would love to stick it to them for being so nasty and hateful to me, I am just going to let it go. Let the people who like MoraChat go there and have fun and make money. Let those who don't stay away. I do still predict that the Admin and his moderators will chase more people away than they attract, but ultimately that's their problem.

hi dawnald sounds to me likeMoraChat is not a very pleasantplace to be after the way they treated you. So they dont like anyone to argue with them, eh? thats no way to treat their members. I would suggest you stay with us here at Mylot as we are evidently a lot nicer bunch of people.lol. seems to be that the admins. there are doing their best to get rid of people instead of bringing them in. Seems like some people will not respect anyone who doesnt agree with their opinions and that do esnt bode well for running a place like MoraChat.

Yep I like it here a lot better. Rules are rules, I have no problem with that, but if you are going to warn a person that they are going to be banned because their posts don't meet standards, wouldn't it be more helpful if you gave constructive criticism instead of attacking? What I got was that my posts were too short, useless, childish, half-hearted and that I had an attitude. What would have been useful and helpful would have been something like: "This response was off topic." "This response was one or two words. Please reply in complete sentences." And the Admin flat out lied to me when he said that I had received "several PMs" about my posts when I had received only one. Oh well, nicer here...
