My Rant For The Day ~ Dang Dog!

So, I just yelled at my youngest Labrador, Bogey. It went something like this: "Bogey! NO, Bad Dog! Eating toilet paper is disgusting. You're so gross!" The poor thing then dropped the toilet paper and hung his head in shame. He has this addiction to toilet paper. Any kind of toilet paper. Toilet paper from the trash can, toilet paper the kids have dropped on their bathroom floor, whether it be used or not, rolled up toilet paper. He'll even eat it with the wrapper still on it!! I think I need to get him into a 12 step program because his habit can be very expensive. He's just lucky I've never run out of it when I needed it most! Do your animals have any weird or quirky obsessions? I'd love to hear about them.

We did have a cat one time that could open any door or cabinet in our house. She got under the bathroom sink and ate the cotton tips off of every single qtip that she could find (like, 300 of them) and then finished her snack with the rest of the cotton balls in the bag. Don't know how she survived...

That is too funny. She didn't get sick or anything? Yeah, sometimes my dog eats plastic bags. He's a wonder dog. I'm amazed that he hasn't gotten a twisted bowel, or blocked his intestines. Crazy.

Not animals for me, but children, yes definitly. I only wish that my youngest child would listen as well as you lab!!! I tell her to drop the toilet paper and she does, but in the toilet, the entire roll... She too has an obsession with it. Also with toothbrushes in the toilet which is also quite costly. She's not potty trained yet but she likes to pretend she is so every time someone goes to the bathroom she follows suit on her mini potty. She then requests some toilet paper, pretends to wipe her shorts in her diaper area, then she uses the tp to wipe the floor, the wall, blow her nose w it, then throw it in the sink. One day, we blinked and when we ended the blink (like maybe 3 seconds) she had gotten a roll of toilet paper and we had to follow the trail of tp through the house to find her. True Story

LOL!! My daughter is quite the same. Only she is potty trained. Just yesterday she unrolled a whole roll of toilet paper into the toilet. Luckily she didn't try to flush it or anything. That was a treat to try to get out. Ewww!! Our kids are quick aren't they! Sometimes my kids do things so remarkably fast, it's just truly amazing.

We have a new puppy and he has discovered toilet paper too. I hope that it doesn't become the problem that you are talking about. I also notice that he has found the trash can and I won't tolerate him eating anything out of it. It is a gross habit and one that we have to break them of.

I wish you very good luck in breaking him of the habit. I cannot seem to get this dog to quit doing it. I'm not really sure what the attraction is? Maybe he needs a higher fiber diet, lol!! My dogs will also eat out of the kitchen trash can if we leave them alone with it. They're all bigger though, so they can just stick their heads right in.
