Beside my teamleader

When we were informed that we have our new teamleader, I requested to sit right next to him. It is because I always feel sleepy and if I will sit beside him I cannot sleep for sure. There is nothing wrong with my location. But sometimes I get conscious because he can easily monitor what I am doing. My officemates are always surfing the internet because they are not so close to him. He need to stand so that he can monitor what my officemates are doing. I am fond of talking with my seatmates but now I can't talk anymore because he is my seatmate. If given the chance to transfer to another seat, I will grab that opportunity provided that I will bring my PC with me. How I wish my teamlead would be transferred to another location.
Will you consider me lucky to have seated right beside our teamleader?

I guess that is a pretty good idea you had, I stand out too much for me to ever fall asleep. There are some meetings when I am the head so I am the one talking the whole time. then there are others with my boss and other department heads where I listen take notes and give breif summaries of the weeks and months. As you can see i'm easy to spot out and people like to stare at me so if I feel asleep it would only take seconds for someone to notice.

AS for me, I wouldn't mind the team sitting beside me. As for a little talk, From time to time, it is ok to talk with the seatmate as long as the work is not affected. As for the web browsing, it should be refrained or reserved on saturdays or when not too busy i the office. Better yet, the IT dept would install a web-sense to all the PCs in the office to aviod the temptation all together. Seating beside the team leader is actually good. I have experienced that and so far I dont have any problem with that and besides we are close friends. The only thing different is that we cant talk during call outs. lol. I can ask her anything with regards to the work without standing up and walking a few steps ahead of her because she's beside me.

helo don, i think you are very lucky..
you can easily ask him if you got questions..
look at it, you can monitor him, you can tell if his surfing the internet, texting or listening to music..
since you are fond of talking to your seatmates, maybe you can start a conversation with him (as long as it won't interrupt your productivity)..

When with a teamleader, when should not even dream of sleeping. And if one has to sleep there are plenty of opportunities sitting away from him. But it all depends upon the leader. He may even make you dance what to talk of sleeping. Any interactive session would be difficult. But centainly having a PC and evading leader is a goold idea. Wish you all the success.
