Who is better cook? Guys or girls? Why?

Tried to search around but couldn't find such a discussion.
I always discuss this topic with my friends. Some people would say guys because they're strong and can lift the frying wok/pan around easily. And they tend to be calmer.
But there are also some who said girls, because they're tidier and more organized and definitely cook more than the average guys.
What do you think?

Well, I've read an article something like this in a magazine way back before. We noticed that most of the chef's are guys right? It's because cooking is a usual thing for some women but for some it's a passion. Also for guys they treat cooking as a passion. However, they cook differently compared to girls. They are more artistic and adventurous in cooking while women are afraid to explore something so not to ruin the taste of the food. Guys doesn't consider the budget so when it comes to buying some ingredients it's all complete it's not limited to a certain amount while girls always worry the budget so there are some point that some ingredients become optional for them like for example if the ingredients needs 4 cups of something others are making it 3 cups instead of 4 so the taste of the food also vary.
I also believe that one thing why guys are better cook than girls because they're good how to estimate things which is someway has to do with cooking.

You're right, girls are good in making desserts. =) by the way, do know how to cook? or are you a good cook? Girls are lucky if their partner knows how to cook.

My mum and my sister said I'm a good cook. But I'm a bit lazy to follow those recipes to cook complicated stuff. I normally cook what I have. Just try to think something out of nothing. I used to experiment a lot with my cooking - my housemates being my white mouse. :D Nowadays work has been quite busy, so I somehow stopped cooking. I'll leave it to my mum who is the expert.
Oh, my father side of the family, all the guys cannot cook except for my late grandfather who used to be a chef in China. But he passed away when I was only 1.

What you've said here is very accurate. I find it very true indeed. Guys tend to be very adventurous and we tend to try out many things outside the recipe. But there are people who are rigid. I know some of my friends are like that - mostly guys. Maybe that's why they cannot cook well.
But in terms of preparing desserts, i think the girls win hands down. Most of the dessert experts are girls. :D because they need to be very tidy and precise in order to make the decoration and the taste well. Guys, with our big and clumsy hands and overcreative mind, might ruin the dessert easily.

Nowadays I find the guys or uncles helping their wives to complete the cooking soon.. Gals take efforts to tidy the place and so I prefer gals to be better but I appreciate the guys who take efforts to help their moms,girl-friends and wives to complete cooking!:)

I hate washing. I rather spend hours to cook than to wash the dishes. =_= I know it's a weird habit, but that's me. Maybe because I can use my creativity for cooking, but I doubt there's anything creative wish dish washing.

Because they are strong and can lift the wok or fry pan easier??? LOL thats too funny..
now to answer your question though, it depends on the guy and the girl..I know some guys who can't cook to save their own life (my brother for example) but I have and do know men who are amazing cooks (like my bf and my BiL)...I know some women who are terrible at cooking and some such as myself who are great cooks....Its not about gender, its about desire, skill and so on

I think it depends on creativity? Hahaha. There are indeed more male chefs than female. I'm a better cook than my sister, but my mum is better than me. I cook because I want to survive (without relying on my future wife who might not know how to cook).
I think it's about the mindset, desire, creativity and maybe a little bit of talent.

i think guys are the better cooks than the girls not due to they are strong or so and it is due to everytime the guys try learn more about the girls and they take interest in their activities and you can find there are guys in so many streams which are specially considered for girls like fashion designing, tailoring, cooking. this are all considered as girls work but guys too take interest in it and hence the guys can be a better cook.
but as you mentioned that girls are more tidy i agree that as even i think so and there are guys who just make a mess all around.
but all girls are not the same and all guys are not the same.

I don't learn to cook because I want to please or impress a girl. I did that because I want to rely on myself to survive. Who knows, maybe in the future, my wife will become angry of me for some reasons, and there are no food around my area for me to buy, and I might die from hunger. That's the reason I learn how to cook.

But how come there are more male chefs than female ? :D The difference is quite significant as well.
