3 mushy words

I love watching american TV series. And I have notice that the characters in the series are either afraid or does not say that love each other right away? Does it really happen in really life? In some of the them, they would be dating exclusively for some time and haven't said those words. I know saying "I love you" should been taken lightly. We should say it when we mean it. Here in the Philippines it's like a pre-requisite before a couple becomes a couple. What do you think

From your statements, I do believe we Americans are MORE mature than you Filipinos. You sound as you're soooo freakin desperate to get a wife that you'll say ANYTHING to bed her. Here we take our love very seriously. We learned a LONG time ago that you don't have to be in love to find passion. There's over 300 million people in the US & a mere 8 million in the Philippines. I have a chance of meeting a LOT more men than the poor female in the Philippines does. Why should I rush to say I love you when I don't feel that I do??? I didn't meet the man that I love until I was 50. He was worth waiting on!!! I would have NEVER met him if I had rushed at 20 to marry a man that I didn't love. I was offended by your idiotic comments!!! If you want to lie & say you love someone who you don't, that is your business. But do NOT put me down for being honest enough to NOT say things I don't mean just in order to get a husband. I have lived fine all by myself. Are your women not strong enough to do the same??? Or do you feel the need to keep them as slaves so you can feel good about yourself??? Or does your government keep you such a slave that you cannot think for yourself???

Yeah. It shouldn't be said so freely. Only when you mean it, of course. Even I find it hard to tell my mom I love her. Hehe. It is difficult.

Thanks for the response. I agree with you that you should say only when you mean it. But sometimes, we Filipinos can't help ourselves.

I am not sure but I guess it has to do with most of the families here in the country are expressive of their feelings, thus, saying and meaning every word, is not as "tough" as the westerners perceive saying I LOVE YOU to be. Between lovers, hmmmm... I believe that mostly especially when you become so passionate and you just can't explain your feelings, it is I LOVE YOU that describe it all.

Thanks for the response. I like your comment about families here in our country are more expressive and the best way to explain your feelings is jsut to say " I love you". I agree with you on that

some people would prefer to say those 3 words when they only mean it while other say it for the sake of saying it. when you're inlove sometimes you just find yourself being mesmerized by the moment and you just cant describe the feelings that saying those 3 mushy words should be said in the most romantic way
