has anyone on here ever lost a loved one to cancer. I only ask because I lost my mother almost 3 years ago, and I would like to know how everyone else has handled the situation and what has changed in your life since...............

I love my mother to cervical cancer when i was 16. It will be almost 6 years this november. It was very hard to handle but i got through it. I still miss her. but she defently taught me some valuable lessons. Since i was so young i tried to stay away from the house as much as possible. I just kept myself busy. My dad became an alcholic and i had to fend for my self. But i'm not complaining too much because i met a wonderful man and we have two beautiful children.

I lost my Mom to cancer four years ago to cancer. We new it was terminal and by the time it was diagnosed she was to far gone. There are a few things that have helped me. One is that knowing she had a chance to meet my kids, we live in Japan and she was in the UK. It was hard not being there for her but when she diagnosed I had just given birth to my fourth child ( who was born early and spent 4 months in the hospital). Also she passed away in a peaceful way, she got up, tided the living room (neat freak to the end), felt tired so lay on the sofa. When my Dad couldn't wake her, he called the doctor who advised him to collect the family together. So my Mom passed on with the family near her. It doesn't get easier, many days I want to pick up the phone and chat, especially when my kids do something. But I guess having been well loved by my Mom means that I should do the same for my kids!! Cancer, Yoga and Psychology - This blog (http://cancerandpranayam.blogspot.com/) is based on practical experience. The blog owner has listed his real life experience of effects of Yoga on a cancer patient.
hi Yes, I have lost a close relative last year. She was 39 years old and her hubby is my nephew. My nephew is completely devasted. Cancer, i believe, a curse. It not only kills the patient but also ruins the whole family. My nephew is writing a blog about his experience in managing a cance patient. He has recently added a current news about cancer in his blog. I have added his blog in my profile. Leave comment to encourage my nephew.

hi Yes, only 11 months ago my nephew who is like my son lost his wife. She was only 39 years old. She was so lovely and creative, we can't forget her. She could sing well. In any family gathering we miss her. She could paint on cloths and was good designer. But cancer knows no mercy.
