Being new is not an excuse to you, but to me it is. I remember as a new member there were a lot things that I did not know, and even older members might not want to go do the "leg work" to find out how many discusssion have the same questions they want to ask. Not a lot of people have unlimited time to be on the computer.

hi shelly, I completely agree ..Its not like people intentionally go around look for discussions that have already been started. Its happened to me that i post a discussion and then i see someone already posted it. SO i think that saying theres no excuse is harsh and unnecesary.

thanks shelly but if you are new you need to read your policy of your do,s and don,t then you want have to ask question sometime people can,t just walk you through it i don,t mind when i have time but we have to bare down and get more fresh information and being new is not a excuse at all.

I have noticed this too, But im also guilty of doing this.. there was aquestion that I wrote and when I posted it I saw that the question was posted over and over gaian!..I felt so stupid but I couldnt take it back. So now What I do is I search for my question before I postit. I just dont want anyone thinking Im trying to steal their discussions..

yes I think so but then the newbies dont know how to go about doing that also they ask in a different way . But on some things it gets very tiring to see the same thought come in another post!

that true so we just have to try harder and not point finger i guess and try to come up with something that has been spoken of in a while i like science question there is so much we can talk about here and enjoy doing it we all don,t think a like are act a like but we all are human and we can think and i know and believe we will try to bring something fresh to the table when we think of something fresh it,s really hard think of new stuff to be honest iam at a blank right now .

yes because people trying to help people be a ware whats happening here there is no other way of putting it out there but just say it.this question from me was a feeling i had because when you look at question for over and hour and have not answered a question something is seriously wrong.had nothing to do with copying.when i searched it was only mention once in similarity.

Yes there are lots of questions here that have been posted before. And I for one feel so lazy answering the same question over again. However there are discussions which are of the same topic but still worth discussing because they are taken on different perspective. Sometimes, they are based on the current personal experience and hence the poster was encouraged to post without researching if there had been similar topics because anyway the contents are his own and certainly could not be exactly similar than the post discussions. What I can't tolerate are those topics that are very obviously stolen from another user.

Yes I do agree with you. I have read posts which their title was photocopy and similar to that of mine. On the other hand its not the first time that it happens to me as well. As soon as I submit a posting I realize that there is another posting with a similar subject. I think we have to do more research before posting.

I think being new is a pretty good excuse. I remember that I would not have known how to research a topic before posting a question when I first started. It is the people who have been here long enough to know, but still post repeated questions that I get bugged by.

thats so true we have to do something it starting to get old same stuff we going to have to did deeper and focus on what we are going to say and please we have to research our information and make sure others have not posted it. to me it just don,t look good at all.

well we have almost 150,000 members here so there is going to be some slight duplications of discussions. also some members here take any discussion that has a bit of the thread of another in it as being a repeat, when it is not really becausethe discusser thought of a new, completely new asp;ect of the others discussion, something thatwas not in the original discussion at all.So I would tred lightly when accusing someone of repeating a discussion over and over, unless you are referring to the zillion what flavor of ice cream do you like? I could come along and ask what flavor of ice cream makes you really sick when you taste it, and want to vomit, and why do you think it does that? Were you forced to eat this flavor as a child? Now I am being really silly here but this would be a new slant on the same old, same old.

Yes, especially lately. But I just figure maybe people haven't seen the other posts so they don't know it has already been asked. I know I don't know a lot of what has been posted either. Especially for new people. It doesn't bother me.

hi ann, when i started yes i had a lot of difficulties with ideas, now i come up with something i find different, i talk on topics related to OLD WOMAN, MY CHOICE OF LOVE POETRY, MY FEAR OF TATTOD MAN , COUPLE JOKES ... but it seems like only my group of friends especially the senior give their comments ... I have only got 12 in one discussion, others i will get from 2 ~ 5 comments only. I feel that if i have more than 5 it is an achievement for my discussion Other mylotters seems to like the simple questions and as you put it repeatative ... Maybe they are here only to get the "number of comments" rather than love mylot for the information cheers

you right i guess people are here for different reason i been trying to figure out mylot but it a bit strange here the most serious question hardly get answered i notice that the simple question are answered quickly and that why i think it,s better for most to keep it simple and keep there private life private is why a lot of question not answered and i can respect that.

You're probably right about repeated posts, but I, for one, don't want to go back through the archives to see whether or not my discussion has been there before. I also agree that some post don't make any sense, but I've wondered if some of that is because English is not the writer's first language. At lease they're making an effort with the language and you have to congratulate them for that.
