So you find the perfect gift for your toddler, you're so excited bcz you know they are going to love it, you can't wait to give it to them. They finally open it and are indeed happy, they love the toy...for 2 minutes, then they drop it and play with the box! What the heck? You pick up the toy are start playing with it to show them how fun it is, they laugh and smile, but wont put down the BOX! Seriously, why does this happen? It's a freakin box already!

That is so true! I totally remember those days. When my son was little, I would have my husband bring boxes home from work to make him happy and keep him entertained. It is so funny that they would rather play with the box. That shows that they have imagination!

And it's definitely cheaper! For Christmas last year, my two older kids made a house out of boxes for the two younger kids. They painted and decorated it, then put it under the tree when they went to bed...the little ones were so happy when the saw it!!

My son loves palying the box too instead of toys. He's box of toys is bigger so he ended up sitting inside it and play like he is roaring the boat. Kids like to explore and very curios so they make funny things.

Too cute, I hope you've taken pictures of him in his "boat!"

I don't know why they do this, but they do and they have the most fantastic adventures with a box as well. In fact I think that they have more fun with the box than with the toy. I have a little boy who is 6 now and he always has more fun with the box than with the contents.

Very true! The best gift ever is a new fridge or stove for yourself and the box from it for your kids because those boxes are HUGE! You can even build up the excitement for yourself and the kids by telling them they're getting the biggest gift ever!

KIds have such an active imagination ... the box could be a tent, or a hat or shoes, or a table. And as they get older and they actually play with the toy, they grow out of it in like a week. Dragon Ball Z was the big thing years ago - i went nuts looking for toys for my brother _ I got him like rare figures everything. Christmas morning - he loved them. By his birthday he was putting them in shoe boxes on to the next trend. His birthday is in Mid January. It's just how it goes.

So true, I learned fairly quick not to spend too much on the toys. They are just as happy with something that cost $1 than something that was $50...as long as it comes in a big box!

I do not know, it is a mystery I guess.
