Missed out on a best response?

We've all given out best responses, only to get a good one in after the fact. But have you ever left one and then been told that you would have gotten the best response if only the discussion were still open? My favorite was a discussion on the topic of procrastination, something like "do you procrastinate?" My response was "I'll get back to you on that." The person who posted it actually told me she would have given it to me if she hadn't already awarded it. What could I say but "that's what I get for procrastinating." lol
