I only got one at a time and it is usually a black ball pen. I know others who keeps a lot of pens with different colors and different designs. I don't know why they had a lot of pens. How about you? Did you have a lot of pens when you were a student? Why? How is it helping you?

I have tons of pens...why? Because I love to write and I love pens (I have so many, so I guess I can call it a collection) I am very particular about what I write with as well, if the pen doesn't feel comfortable in my hand and if it doesn't write smoothly then I won't use it. I also like to draw, so all the different colours come in handy.

Can you tell me how many pens you have? Because the response above you said he have 2000 pens in his collection and is holding the record for the most number of ball point pens. Have a nice day!

When we were students we were not encouraged to use ball point pens. It was made mandatory for us to use Fountain pen which was to be used along with ink which was to be filled in each day before going to school. So the pen was re usable and it used to be part and parcel of our daily study kit. The pen, obviously one only used to be a companion and one used to attach to it emotionally and psychologically. For if one lost his/her pen besfore the examination,(that was the only occasion where one used to get an opportunity to change the pen!)then the exams used to be spoilt ones because these new pens were never used to be as smooth as the old ones!Belive in me some students were too posessive about their pen and they would never lend their pens to others! Thus we used to have only one pen at atime as student! But then when grown up having fascinated by various colours and designs I have started collecting Ball point pens and I managed to collect highest number of ball points pens in year 2000 which were about 2000 in number with out duplicates and my name has been entered in Limca Book of Records recognising my collection as the biggest collection of Ball point pens in my Cpuntry.I think I am still holding the National record and I have got the certificate from this Records maintaining People! Thanks! Nice topic of discussion!

This really is amazing! 2000 pens?! You should really be the record holder. And the story the closeness between the pen and the owner is really good too. It's like they are almost best friends that they would not want to let of each other. Have a nice day!

i have about 2 pens, usually piolet pens which i will just buy the refill. i think it is more pratical to have only one or two or you will have to search frantically for a proper coloured pen when your pen runs out in the exam. what is the use of having one of each colour? you cant use a pink coloured pen during the exams. so, i think it is not very pratical.

I think it is really not practical to have a lot of pens and to have them in different colors. I only have one and when it ran out of ink I would borrow from my classmate and she would give me her pink one. What irony! Have a nice day!

I usually have 3 pens. 1 for my usual writing, and one extra (the standard black ballpen). I also have one sign pen, or one that marks heavy. I sometimes have 4 when I need to bring a blue or red pen. I don't usually like bringing a lot of them because they tend to get lost most of the time. It's really convenient to bring more than one since in case you run out of ink, you won't have any problems, especially as a student during exams or any forms that one needs to fill out.

I usually just borrow when my pen runs out of ink. Every start of class, I remember our mother would by three pens for me: black, blue and red. And the blue and red one always end up missing. Have a nice day!

I was one of those who had lots of pens with different colors. When I sat for a lecture session, I would have the title of the lecture in one color, sub-title in another color, sub-sub-tile in yet another color, etc. You get the idea. It helped me see everything in the big picture. I could only do that when I know the lecture is going to be slow-going. Those lectures which went like the wind, I often have no time to change pens, no time to write in legible handwriting either. But it was fun having those multi-colored pens. Now I just stick to just one at a time.

Hi there! When I was still in elementary I have a pencil case with lots and lots of pens, colorful erasers and pencils. It's just nice to see I have a lot of them and that my classmates liked them. But as I reached high school and college, I only have 2 pens (black and blue) and 1 pencil. I need a pen and an extra 1 for writing in case the other pen gets lost or loses ink. Ciao!

I have a bunch of pens, I kind of collect them. I don't know why I have so many. One reason I keep a lot of them is in case the ink runs out in one I have extras, and people always wanna borrow pens but they never give 'em back. So it's good to have extras, just don't have a big, crazy amount like I do.

I am not the kind of student to bring lots of things at school. I just bring one black ball pen and one red ball pen. I also bring one pencil, that is all. I have several classmates where they bring a pencil case for them to put all their pens inside. I don't like things like that because I want to bring a small bag at school.

i had 3 colors during my student days. black, blue and red. but i never managed to keep them longer than 2 weeks because it kept missing. I cannot afford to keep buying pens every time i lose it. but those days are over now. i got more pens now than my student days. and they all are free! People who wants to do business with me likes to offer free pens...

Hello, richiem. I am a student. I do not use to have many pens. I mean, if I could, I would have one black, one blue and one red. That'd be all. But they use to get stolen in my school. The classmates are always stealing it from you, so it is useless to spend money buying a new one. Sometimes you lend it to somebody and you forget to take it back. Sometimes you borrow it and forget to give it back. And the person does never ask for it, because it is like their "second" pen. Sometimes you keep asking for a pen daily, asking for it borrowed... So your friend just "gives" it to you. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I did keep a lot of pens as a student. In fact, I still have many of them. I am not sure why I kept them, some of them are out of ink and I haven't found refills for them. I will probably throw them away eventually. In school it was good to have a unique pen because people liked to take other people's pens. I could always identify which one was mine and politely ask for it back.

Yes,I have bought many pens as I grown up as a student from primary school to university, but most of them are broken now, some because they accidently dropped to the ground and broken the point, some because the tubes are obstructed. Now I do not use them all, I use computors and they are seldom needed now.
