Yesterday i log in my e-gold account and it say i have to enter either a Personal Tax ID Number or a National ID Number. I, of course, dont have a Personal ID Number. But when I ask everyone, they say my country doesn't have a National Tax ID Number. What should I do now? Abandon my E-gold account?? Please, I need help!

e-gold is creating unnecessary security problems like the one what you have mentioned. In the case of USA citizens it is right. I think there is no need of that condition in the case of other country personals. Another matter noticed by me is the IP number. In my country India, general public is provided with dynamic IP address. For getting static IP address, it is expensive.Without knowing this e-gold is insisting on static IP address. So nowadays I am not using e-gold.

E-gold account introduced new security features so that accounts cannot be hacked. Although I can understand their reasoning, this is introducing extra hassle for the e-gold user. I would try to contact the e-gold account administrators about this issue, if I were you. I hope that they are helpful. © ronaldinu 2008

e-gold has undergone some harmful scrutiny and publicity from which it will probably never recover. After the FBI forced them to hand over their transaction histories, and the general sentiment that e-gold was a safe haven for fraudsters and money laundering, they are trying to make themselves appear trustworthy, and I really doubt that they will be able to do so. Also it is so complicated to get money into or out of an account, that most people really don't want to spend so much time and effort to have an account. Other processors are much easier in that you can simply transfer money from your bank account into the processor account, not have to find someone with e-gold and buy from them and hope you don't get screwed out of your money. I expect that they will disappear in the next few months.
