What can you do if everybody is building townhouses

Firstly you don't earn as much as your neigbours do and you have just build yourself a small nice looking house and all of a sudden everybody around you, all your neighbours are begining to build giants townhouses, what do you do? you relocate somewhere? you stay and hope maybe you'll win lottery and build yourself townhouse too? i would probably relocate somewhere comfortable.what would you do in this situation?
