I don't think anyone can really answer this objectively cause it's all a matter of opinion. For example, I hate when people refer to me as a "birthmother", but society thinks I'm being to sensitive. I think people aren't sensitive enough when it comes to civil rights, but others don't agree. On the other hand, I make comments sometimes that people are offended by and I think they're being overly sensitive. I try not to offend people when I'm talking about an emotionally charged issue, but you can never please everyone. Someone will always be overly sensitive and they will think you aren't being sensitive enough.

I think the world is still too insensitive, at least many of the ones in power are. Look at the cruelty still in the world, the people dying of starvation while their government steals all the money. The world is turning nastier all the time with callous attitudes to those who fall by the wayside. The people who run the economy and the companies are greedy and it is their greed that has led to the current economic collapse. Greed breeds insensitivity.

I think sometimes that concerning their rights, their privacy and then comments that other people make about them, yes, people can be too sensitive. But then the same same will not be sentive towards other's people's feelings, rights or privacy.
