Why do you think children love Barney?

Every morning, my youngest daughter never fails to tell me to play her Barney DVDs. She will tell me to play all her DVDs until lunch. And then on late afternoon her sister will do the same, tell me to play all the tapes again as she and her sister sing along. I just smile when I see them happily singing and dancing or sometimes just quietly sitting down and smiling while watching Barney. I just don't know how they love Barney so much. I think because of the color and also BJ and Baby Bop have amazing kiddie voices. Do your children love Barney too?

My daughter (who is 4 1/2) doesn't watch Barney. It just wasn't on televsion when we would watch, so we never really came across it. She likes to watch Noggin. She likes Dora and those shows. One of her favorites is the Backyardagains. I do think it has to do with the color and voices, as these characters are bright and colorful and they sing a lot of songs and my daughter seems to like it.

My eldest daughter had watched some episodes of the Backyardigans but there's no episode anymore on any of our cable channels. Backyardigans' songs are cool and very modern unlike Barney's songs which are very much baby like. I also prefer Little Einstein. It's animated program which is more of the classical Beethoven and the like musics. Have you watched it?

I admit that Barney is a good hobby for my daughter. She is already good in speaking in her very young age and she has learned so many songs and actions too. Barney's laugh and tone intonation might also have something to do with it. He sounds so friendly and so happy, right? I just can't help smiling when I think the irony of it. Imagine Barney is T-Rex, the fiercest and the most feared kind of dinosaur, but Barney is depicting it as a friendly animal with purple color

This is also a mystery to me... at first my daugther did not like Barney because she was still preoccupied with hi-5... but when she got tired of that... she started to watch barney... and never looked backed...
I guess it has something to do with the catchy songs, dances, and the kids that play with Barney... it also helps when BJ and Baby Bop are around...

My kids both liked Barney I don't know what it is about that show but they sure liked it. I don't know if it is all the singing or that big dinosaur that attracts them to it so much. My daughter even has Barneys full length moiie. She does not really watch it anymore though she seems to have grown out of it.

Hello Marisrriel! My daughter love to watch barney too. And i dont know also why she likes to play it repeatedly. Maybe because barney is colorful? Or is it the songs that interests my child attention...
