elaborating,in an average case will a persons satisfaction hinder the growth and true potential the person could have achieved.
for example, a guy/gal find a good job and the slowly satisfaction creeps in and the drive which he vegan with goes away and at 40he/she looks bank all he/she could have achieved but he didn't
by growth i mean achieving dizzying height of success, and not the average yearly growth. this question i guess is one of the greatest struggle of mankind.....indeed.
i too have myself of ten wondered because i have been moved by both AYN RAND(powerful individualistic, success orientated philosophy and the indian perspective of higher consciousness, detachment and wonder were the two meet.....some of RAND's most famous quotes...(for those interested)
i am.... therefore i think
"my philosophy, in essence is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his won happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity and reason as his only absolute"-AYN RAND
that something happened to you is of no importance to anyone, not even to you; the important thing about you is wahat you choose to make happen--your values and choices
