Do you keep wearing an item of clothing

even if it has a small stain, rip or hole in it? I just noticed a small bleach mark on my sweater, it's sorta ugly but I don't think it'll stop me from wearing it. I also have a few things with tiny holes or rips in them that I keep on wearing. What about everyone else? Are you fussy or do you just let it slide? Do you stop wearing an item just because of a tiny flaw? And, how much damage does there have to be to get you to quit wearing it?

I have a pair of shorts that I got about 10 year ago that have a huge hole in the front. just above the hem so whenever I put them on I often put my foot throught he hole, instead of the leg hole where my leg is supposed to go. However I can not bear to throw them out. I will continue to wear them until they literally fall off my body..and then I will most probably sew them up the best I can and continue to wear them some more.

I had a pair of jeans that I literally wore until they fell off me too. I eventually had to relegate them to painting clothes after the seat blew out and my butt was hanging out the bottom!

I noticed a small hole on the sweater I took off last night when I came in from church. I love that sweater and will not stop wearing it. I will see if I can get matching thread and mend it. I can still wear it with a jacket. Most things, if have too many stains that I can not get out, I will wear them around the house, or use them for running to the store under my coat. I do not throw too many things away, I try to get the most out of them that I can.

If it's only a small rip, i will continue to wear it, till it just becomes to big/ugly. I can't repair clothes either, it just ends up worse! (Hm, due to being male?) Afterall, it just gets thrown away.

oh i am right there with you on this one. I had a very favorite top once that got this stupid stain i dont know how. and it was wool so i couldnt bleach it! used to wear it with a scarf and conceal it. once wore it just like that and my manager was like you have a stain and i said I know :) boy he didnt expect that!I didn't care! I guess it would have to be really noticeably damaged/ faded/ stained before I would quit wearing it and even then I might try to recycle it or wear it at home..its so hard to get an absolute favorite outfit out here!

Most people probably won't even notice little stuff anyways. Plus you can always just act surprised, like you didn't even know it was there!

NO I am very particular about my dress. It has to be spiick and span.I am not obsessive. It has been a habit of me since the childhood to be very neat on my clothing.Like mother like son in my case.

Sure, i just dont wear it out to say dinner with friends or to my sons school. I have no prob wearing it to the store, esp if i have a jacket on, but even without jacket, a quick run in and out of store, its not a prob..as long as the rip isnt over the boob or in the butt of a pair of pants..but if the spots or rips are small and not very noticeable, then i see no prob. My clothes generally dont get tossed at the worst i will cut them into smaller piecs and use them for rags for cleaning or what not.

i would definitely hang on to an item of clothing, if i liked it enough. i mean, come on, you shouldnt stop wearing your fav t-shirt, or anything else, just because you are worried someone will comment, or think bad of you for it. well, yes, you might argue, what if it is damaged to such an extent that it would not be approporiate to wear it in public? then i guess it is time for you to let it rest in peace. maybe keep a piece of it to remember it by. but i confess, there are many items in my closet that are old and faded, but i dont have the heart to let them go... happy My Lotting...

I would wear it at home, but not at work. I have to dress in business casual for work so anything that would have a hold would stay at home or get donated.

Oh yes I absolutely keep wearing it - I have my "housecleaning" clothes and my "painting" clothes and my "lounge around" clothes and my "go on errands" clothes, etc. Times are too hard to throw anything away until it's totally un-wearable! There's been times where a little iron-on patch will even do the trick!

yes, I have something that no longer fits has faded or gotten a hole in it I will donate it to this charity that runs through my church. If it is any more damaged then I will just toss it in the trash and replace it. Plus it gives me another reason to go shopping.

Nope.. If it has an flaw, I will just wear it around the house as my day clothes..But, if I have to go out in my clothes, I will cover it up. If it is visible that is.. I don't let small flaws stop me from wearing my clothes... I just will wear it until it is no good to wear.. But, if it is damaged, I will not wear it..

For me to stop wearing any clothing will potentially depend upon few factors - 1) How noticeable is the stain or hole on the cloth? 2) How favourite is the dress for me? I had a favourite dress of mine which i messed it across a nail and it made a small hole, so i got that mended from a dressers shop and got that stitched with some nearly same color thread, however it was noticeable but i kept on wearing the dress just consoling my heart at the name of FASHION.... Since it was my favourite dress and also i spent so much efforts to get the problem fixed, hence these may be the reasons which didn't stopped me from wearing them.

Some cloths have some special attachments, like that presented by a good friend, parents, etc. Then there are also some, say the first one bought with own salary. The damage can be covered with wearing clothing over it, or can be sewn. If stitch expertly, the damage will not be seen. Yes, I too can’t stop wearing a clothing that is of much attachment for me.

I used to wear t-shirt till it really really worn out. Even with a few hole here and there. But not too much of the damages. It only to the t-shirt that I really love only. Sometime it may look ugly but sometime it's kinda cool too.

i will continue to wear it around the house, as long as my undergarments arent showing of course lol! if i have to go out into public i will change into my "public worthy" clothing. the stuff i wear all day around the house really are not fit to be seen in public with! either because of small holes etc like you talk about, or that they are just plain unflattering to my figure!

As long as the stain or hole is not overly noticeable, I will still wear it too!

Usually I stop wearing the clothes if I notice any visible damage. I just do not feel comfortable in this clothes anymore. But usually I am quite careful so there have been only few experiences with ripping my clothes or smudged it with something that could not be washed out:) I do not need too expansive clothes, so I usually buy if I like it. So it is no that big deal to buy new clothe if I ripped something since it is not that expansive.
