In case you don't know, Blog Action Day is an annual activity of thousand bloggers blogging about a single topic. This year, the topic is about poverty and it was done two days ago - Oct 15. For the record, 12,836 bloggers join the campaign and raised funds to help poor people around the world. The estimated audience was 13,498,532. I did not donate money but I submit a post - Family against Poverty: Blog Action Day 2008 in which you can find the link here at my blog - http://fatherblogger.com/2008/10/15/family-against-poverty-blog-action-day-2008/ I think that family holds the key to fight poverty. I should know. I have been there! I started earning a living in the busy streets of Manila, and stop for three consecutive years in high school due to severe poverty. How about you? Did you participate, and can you share us a short summary here?

Yes this is a good cause. Kudos to you for participating. I don't know if I could still write a post. But if I will probably after a few days. It is a good cause and bloggers should participate. Indeed, poverty is everybody's concern. I have however written about it a Helium. Here 's the link to the article. http://www.helium.com/items/1187334-how-poverty-is-a-challenge-for-democracy All the best.

I checked your article at Helium and I found it interesting. I miss Helium but unfortunately, I can't write for them now. About writing for Blog Action Day, you can still write one of course but I am afraid it will not be counted to them since it is only a one-day activity. Thanks.

I saw the link, and I am glad to joined as I believe we must help each other by exchanging ideas. Donating money is a big help too, as long they will go the right hands. Good luck and hope you continue your advocacy to care about others. After all, blogging is about sharing and not for oneself alone.

Picture of Poverty - A poor child showing the proof of a hard life.
My answer to your title would be no. I just started a blog and I'm still in the process of learning all the blog's strategies in order to be successful with it. Anyway, regarding your post, I think it's a great article. It's nice to see a blogger relating his/her life to sensitive topics such as poverty. I'll be a regular blogger soon so I've bookmarked your blog for future visits. Looking forward to see more of your great posts.

It is good to know that you're interested in learning about different strategies about blogging. After all, blogging is NOT about making money instantly. We got to learn a lot of things first, then money will come later and even more than we expected. Thanks for bookmarking my blog, and I hope my posts can help somehow. Good luck!

I did participate in Blog Action Day. I wrote about poverty on my blog and I started a discussion on Blog Action Day here at myLot. I also added a banner, and a link to my blogpost on poverty, to my profile here. I am pleased to have been a part of this event. It was not just a fundraiser, it was a good way to raise awareness about poverty that exists all over the world. I have been visiting many of the blogs that supported this important event, to read what they have posted, and to add my comments to them. Some bloggers donated $1 per comment to one of the charities listed on the Action Day site. It's not too late to support the event, by reading what people wrote on their blogs, and by visiting the main site.

I did not post anything on my blog but I participated in donating some money at my friends blog when he made a post about giving some money to the poor in his neighborhood. It is a good thing that bloggers around the world have taken the initiative to make this world a better place for everybody and it is good that many bloggers have participated in one way or another to make the event meaningful and I hope that more of this would come by in the future! Bloggers rock!
