What do other countries think of the US?

So, since there are so many people on here from so many different countries, I thought I would ask what others think of the US. With out surrent economic situation being so poor and our presidential race being so brutal, has your opinion of the US changed? I always hear about other countries having a negative opinion about us. Is it true? How much do you hear about the US in your country?

I think we do have a mixed bag here in Australia, we have a lot of people who think Americans are trying to control the world so to speak, but then we have another lot of people who think England is the dame with us, but i don't think they think too hard about where would we be without either, personally I take people one on one and it doesn't matter what the heads of their country are doing, I like Americans and I like the English...we are all just people trying to survive the best we can.
