Why do toasters...?

Hi Why in the hell do toasters have such a high setting that it burns the crap out of your toast?

because if toasters do not have such setting then your bread won't get toasted, doesn't it. greetings. : )

the higher settings are ment for thicker pieces of bread.. for a normal slice you would use a low setting but if you had say a bagel and use the lower it wouldnt do anything.
