I think maximum people in India bargain. as we don't have a standard procedure where the price of product is fixed , the retailers sell their products at their will. They will quote the price according to the customer! This makes one to bargain1 In the markets and foot pathswe can bargain and reduce the price to the tune of 50%! It may sound strange but this is thefact! This is the way Indian Market works! Here we have MRP ,Maximum recommended price on certain products, but this is also not decided by any authority and it is fixed by the producers of the goods. So there is a lot of scope for bargain on this labelled price. Because of this big markets like 'Big bazaar'in India they make available the products at much lesser price than as quoted on them which is their MRP.To evoke awareness among the people about this, now a days advertisements on behalf of governments are shown on the TV channels, where they encourage and they claim that bargaining is a basic right of any consumer and MRP is not the final or the price to be paid by the consumer blindly! Well how about you do you normally bargain on day to day basis ?

In Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and other countries shops dont have any fixed price for any product. They just say what ever comes to their mind and often people buy them at higher prices than what their price should be. This is actually called price discrimination in business language. But this is not right. there should be someone controlling all this.
