physically fought a friend of yours to get it?
The neighborhood I grew up in Savannah GA was pretty rough. Needless to say, in order to prove you were a tough guy or girl, you basically had to be willing to get involved in fist fights or potential gang activity. Although I wasn't in a gang, my neighbors children and I were always doing troublesome activities to people we knew or didn't know.
Well one day, my friend lost at a game we were playing and as a result owed me some money. He promised he would pay me, etc... I thought nothing of it, as he has paid his debts in times past. I kept hearing rumors that he wasn't going to pay me the money he owed me. Some of my "so called friends" were taunting me, saying things like, man that couldn't have been me. We all know that he has had the money he owed me several times over and yet he refused to pay it.
Well one day, I was fed up with the waiting and all of the rumors, so I confronted him about the money, we got into a physical fight and a total stranger had to stop his car in the middle of a high traffic one way street just to assist in breaking up the fight. I think that stranger was an angel, thinking back on it, but that's another story.
Before the fight was broken up, I got a large portion of the money owed to me from this "friend." Several threats were made after the fight and everything between both of us. Nothing ever came of them though, thankfully. Anyway, later while I was working at Burger King one day, I saw this friend with some of his other buddies.
That's the day we decided to squash the MESS that was still lingering between us and we forgave each other and remained friends. After that we never played any games for money, but were able to savage our friendship.
So what about you, what was the most idiotic thing you have done for money that you thought you had to have, so badly that it could have cost you something more important a friendship, or even worse a relative?
Thanks for reading and participating in advance.

I have never fought over money, but I do understand the thoughts that you were having at the time of the fight.. I do believe in principles and that is part of what you were fighting for, or so it seems to me.. although, I do think that was a very dumb thing to do, but when we are young, we do dumb things.. I believe with your thoughts and discussions that you have grown to be a great young man and a fantastic family man, so it was nothing to be ashamed of, just what a lot of young people do in the process of growing up.. I think that from your wording, you have learned a few of life's lessons and came out to the good in these situations.. Money is probably the most fought over commodity, always was and always will be.. That is sad but true.. Have a great day..

Learned a lot from that lesson I sure did. Actually, I've only been in if my memory serves be correctly about 5 physical fights my entire life. And yes all of them were as a young child/teenager, never as an adult. So I definitely have grown and the principles my mother worked so hard to instill into me have taken root and are flourishing into wonderful testimonies to share. I'm not ashamed of my past, and yes, I agree that it was stupid. I am truly thankful that nothing ever transpired after the fight. Now the only fight I actively am involved in is the fight of faith. But you know what, even my adversary and I both know I'm the VICTOUROUS ONE in it. I do enjoy your responses. Thank you!

Keep up the good fight as your opponent never gives up but as long as you have God on your side, you are the Real Winner.. Have a great day..
