So here's how it is, if anybody can help i'l be very very grateful, even clues will help. I have a p4 1600MHz, 512 DDR ram, Geforce FX5500 with 128 MB, about 2 weeks ago i played Avencast Rise of mage, i was able to play it with okay setting, no problem, then i bought jade empire, and dungeon siege 2, about a day before i bought them i started having problems with avencast, the game worked about 10 minutes, them bam it simply stopped, game stopped responding. The sound worked a bit, then it started looping, played a tune 10 seconds stopped 10 seconds then repeated the same tune. I didn't give it much thought back then. After that i installed jade empire and it did the same thing.i play 10 minutes then bam, out, what is weird is that sometimes i can't even enter the game, other times i actually managed to play for 4 hours, also jade empire plays okay at 1024*720 (i think that's the resolution)I really don't get it, other games don't work either. I once let it go on and on until the pc restarted itself, and when windows loaded i got an error something about video card not able to draw, can't remember very well, but i think it was about this. Said there was a problem with the video driver. I changed the drivers and yes it worked a bit better, with the forceware 169.21 i can't even enter the game no matter how many times i try. With 94 i think it was i can play from 10 minutes to 4 hours, i'm going to try with 97.94, i also tried with lower drivers, as expected more than 10 minutes i couldn't play. I also had a problem with the video card cooler, i thought it was from that since it stopped working, but i cleaned it, and it works perfectly now, but the dang game still won't play, so it's not from that. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I am sorry, your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/jadeempire/tech_info.html Go to that link and will give you minimum system requirements. You need atleast 1.8 GHz processor but you had only 1.6 GHz. One more thing, Check for the driver update.

most games don't work, it's not about minimum requirements, like i said i even played 4 hours at some point, also not all the time the minimum requirement are actually the minimum one's. I already tried with the best driver out there, 1.75 that one's not made for FX5500.

I think the main problem is only processor or video card. We can't run any software with out having the capacity to run them. If we don't had sufficient RAM, then you can manage. But we must had the minimum processor speed. Otherwise it will lead to overload on your processor. If your processor can run at over clock speed, then it was ok. But as far as I know, single core processors won't run at overclockspeeds and even they run will lead your computer to damage and it was not a good practise. You can try reaching jade empire support team at their forums: http://jade.bioware.com/community.html http://jade.bioware.com/forums/viewforum.html?forum=102 Just post your directX filelog to their forums and they will help you. Happy to have a comment from you.

Hi there, These symptoms are often a result of overheating and/or overtaxing the processor itself. Check all of your fans are working properly. Carefully bootup the PC with the side panel off and see if anything visually changes when the game is run and then stops. In the past i've seen processor fans spin up and then gradually slow and stick at which point the overheating causes the PC to lockup and/or exit programs. Another possibility is the PSU. Do you have a PCI-E graphics card that has a power connector? Are certain games taxing the PSU and PC overall more than others? Alternatively a freeze of lockout can be an indication that the PSU is about to die as it is no longer able to put out the required wattage. This is often the first point of call after cleaning the fans and other internals, as PSU's are inexpensive. Does the game work fine directly after a fresh restart? Sometimes if you have opened other programs before running the game they linger in the memory/cache (even if they have since been closed) and this can effect the performance of a game. Hope you get the issue resolved and that some/all of the above are of some use. All the best

PSU = power supply. They are cheap to replace or alternatively you can buy little PSU testers which will confirm the correct level of power is coming out of the various plugs.

Thanks for you insight, well, it's not overheating, since i checked the temperature, that fans don't stop anymore since i cleaned them, so it's probably the PSU since i don't really know what that is, also the the graphic card is on AGP,so what's the PSU? Also it doesn't work after restart.

I guess you need to ask some specialist about your problem. Thank god im one of them,[lol]Lets get to your problem, basically the main reason why your having that problem is overloading of processing programs. Did you notice when you get your fresh computer, it was fast as "the flash" but when you load some stuffs it will surely slowdown and thats what your problem right now. Even you make some adjustments in in horse, it wont help much as the loads goes up every single time. If your a gamer, i suggest minimize uploading games in your system if it cant carry anymore, in that sense everything will run fine. But if you insist, i suggest upgrade your computer for better gaming experience.
