Are there any good sci-fi shows on TV?

Right now, I'm watching past seasons of Stargate Atlantis. While the original Stargate was on, I just couldn't get into the plot line for Atlantis, now it's one of my favorite sci-fi shows. I've only seen the first two seasons and half of the third season. I'd love to find some more sci-fi shows to watch. Are there any other really good current sci-fi shows that are on television? Which ones are your favorite?

My husband has told me quite a few times about a show on the sci-fi network called EURIKA. something about a town full of geniuses... I'm going to send this discussion to him, and see what he can tell you about it. I don't know much about sci-fi, but my husband does.

You need to try Eureka. Good SF with humour. There's also the new Sanctuary with Stargate's Amanda Tapping.

I actually bought a used set of the Stargate series last year so that I could finally watch the series in order. I didn't have cable for many of the 10 years it was on, so missed whole seasons and had trouble following the storylines sometimes once I started watching it again. I also started watching SGA for pretty much the same reasons as you, and have gotten into it now (although I do like SG1 better still). Have you watched Sanctuary on Sci-fi, yet? Amanda Tapping (Sam Carter) stars in it and several Stargate producers/writers are involved with it as well. It only just started, so it still hasn't quite found its legs, yet, but I think it will be good.

Sanctuary only just started on the SciFi channel. You've only missed three episodes. I believe you can watch the episodes online at scifi.com, rather than wait for the DVDs to come out.

Oh, I meant to add that Sanctuary comes on right after the new episodes of Atlantis on Friday nights.

No, I have not seen Sanctuary yet. I'm sure I can find DVDs for it somewhere or maybe they're available for rental on Netflix. Am looking forward to trying out the show. Sounds very promising! Thanks!

I think I saw five minutes of one of the Firefly episodes back when it was on, before I lost cable. It was really innovative. I haven't seen the Serenity movie. Will put that in my Netflix queue. Thanks for the video.

You should watch the series before the movie if you can. The movie was sort of a wrap-up of the series since it was cut so short. It will make a lot more sense to you that way. It was a really good series, if it had come out when the Sci-fi channel existed, it probably would have been picked up by them and lasted several seasons.

I love to watch the Sci-Fi- channel, I don't have any particular show, I just love all the different movies on the channel.

Well, there is Fringe which is on FOX and co-stars Joshua Jackson, who played Pacey on Dawson's Creek. I don't watch it, but I have heard it is good. Also, Eureka on the Sci-fi network is pretty good. I enjoyed it. It's funny but is very much in the sci-fi realm.
