Are you a supporter of Roe v Wade or not? Is it a woman's right to choose or the federal government's right? Why or why not?
Thank you.

My answer may be a little bit confusing, but it is my feelings: I am absolutely in favor of Roe V. Wade, because I don't believe anyone has a right to make our decisions but ourselves. Nobody should ever decide som so important that the woman involved. I am, however, quite firmly against abortion. Had I not had cancer at a very early age that left me unable to conceive, nobody could ever have forced me to have an abortion. Since I always wanted a lot of children, adoption was the only way, and I'm glad those kids weren't aborted. Still, it's not up to me or anyone else to tell another woman how to deal with her life and her body!

I see your side clearly and it all makes sense. But I do have one question- What do you mean by "force" that is not what abortion is about. It's about a woman's right to choose- which I think you are saying you agree with. Thanks for responding.

To clarify the "forced" thing -- I teach high school seniors. I've seen many girls forced by parents or boyfriends or both to have abortions they really didn't want at all. I would fight, but many women, especially the younger ones, aren't that strong. I appreciate the "best" and understanding of my position. I wish more women, and men as well, would see that they don't have to be in favor of abortion for themselves in order to support the rights of other women to decide differently.

Best Response goes to you! I completely respect your decisions concerning your body and how you would handle things for you. But I think the bigger picture is that you are fully aware that how you feel personally has to right to impact how another woman chooses to live or make decisions. Thank you for taking the time to post to my question.

I would not choose to have an abortion but I respect other people's decision to have one if they wish to. I believe that a baby is innocent and that life begins at conception. I have no idea what or who is Row and Wade. In my home country abortion is legal up until 24 weeks pregnancy. If it is found that the baby is disabled or the mother's life is in danger if the baby was born abortion a late abortion is possible. I was shocked to be offered an abortion at 36 weeks pregnancy because my baby has spina bifida. I said no way and I now have a lovely sixteen month old little boy. In some countries abortion is illegal but back street abortion still take place possibly in dirty conditions. I think that in school from the age of 11 years old children should see the pictures of babies inside their mother's womb. I would like to see that teenagers are given information on how to avoid pregnancy and that adoption is made easier. It could be two references, a home interview and if passed adopt a child. The choice could be a girl or a boy, aged under 1, 1-4, 5-9 or older. If abortions cost three thousand dollars then people would be keener on adopting especially if they received one thousand dollars for adopting instead of aborting. A baby should have a right I think.

All that is accomplished by raising the price for a woman to have an abortion is governing a decision that way- which as defined by Roe V Wade is illegal. The truth is if a woman wants to have an abortion- price isn't a problem. Think about it, if a 16 year old girl can come up with $600.00 + to do it now- it wouldn't change much by raising the price. Thanks for responding

A woman's right to choose if she wants to have an abortion or not. The law passed saying that States preventing women an abortion was unconstitutional. To the point it gives a woman the right to abort her pregnancy up to the point that a fetus is viable outside the womb. Does that help?
