It is being said that some men are attending Palin rallies because they think she is hot? Do you think men are so shallow that they would vote for a Hot Chick because she is a hot chick? Read the NY Times article and tell us your opinion. Are men really that shallow? http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/19/us/politics/19palin.html

It's probably a factor to SOME degree, but I actually think a greater factor is that women feel INSULTED by her presence on the ticket. So when they turn out less, the proportion of men is naturally going to grow.

I think some women are also jealous. (sorry ladies) Sometimes I think that women are harder on other women.

Are men shallow? YES! Not all but a heck of a lot of them are. Now they might want to come out and see her in person but I don't know if they would vote for her when they get in that voting booth. I guess it's not any worse than the people who are going to vote for or against Barrack Obama because he's African-American.

The simple answer is "yes". Maybe not all men, but quite a few of them. I work with a group of Republican men, lucky me right? The only woman and the only Democrat to boot! Anyway, I've asked what makes Palin so great and every one of them says "She's hot." One even repeatedly refers to her as a "MILF". And not one of them can cite me an example of what makes her qualified to lead this country if something should happen to McCain. Which is really pathetic considering they are all highly educated individuals. What really gets me is that Palin is supposed to be viewed as a respected, educated woman. "One of the boys" so to speak. She is supposed to be the one that breaks that glass ceiling. I find it kind of ironic that this is supposed to be such a progressive thing in American politics, but all it proves is that looks do count. SO much for that step forward.

One of the things that scared the heck out of me was a scenario where McCain and Palin get elected and then something happens to McCain and Palin becomes the first female president of the USA. What a slap in the face to all the truely great women who could have had that place in history ...

I think this whole discussion is pretty shallow. Liberals can't explain Palin's popularity simply because they disagree with her. So they fall back on their own stereotypes of who conservatives are. This is the same group of [individuals] that think it's impossible for any thinking woman to be a conservative, so why would they expect women to be at a rally for any conservative? How many blacks are voting for Obama because he's black? How many women vote for him because he looks good? How many women voted for BJ Clinton because he was good looking? How many liberals in general voted for both of them because they are both charismatic? Answer: Most all of them. Just another cog in the liberal smear machine. If you don't believe there is bias in the media, Watch this interview on CNN where the interviewer Drew Griffen ADMITS to the bias. But who cares really? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmU942FIKvY

And incedently. I am aguy and I will vote for her based on issues and the fact that she is not just pandering to the press to get votes. The fact that she looks nice is just a bonus. If she's not sending a chill up Chris Matthews leg, Well that's even better. Matthews is a tool.

I found myself wondering the same thing and fairly often but now with all the information I've heard and watching those viewer reactions on CNN I really do think that aside from Palin being "hot" that men ARE more conservative then women and this appeals to them on another level and her physical qualities really does the rest for them.

having said that I just think that this goes for those that consider themselves already conservative and this is just giving them more incentives to stay but while Democratic men may think she's hot too I just do not see that is making their vote because she doesnt represent half the things Democrats believe in

I think it's pretty disingenuous to assume that just because a guy supports Palin, he's doing it because she's hot. It's as disingenuous to claim that everyone is basing their vote for Obama on the color of his skin. I give people more credit than that. I'm sure some men are really that shallow - but I doubt that those men are a large number.
