I take Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Calcium most everyday. I have been taking Magnesium because of leg cramps. I do not have them anymore at night. I take L-Lysine whenver I get a mount ulcer or pimples on my face. I believe that vitamins help keep me well. Do you take vitamins? If so, what kind?

Hey jane, I used to take all kinds of vitamins many years
ago. They did absolutely nothing. They were just a
waste of money. I asked my doctor who I trust with my
life about them. He said that they won't hurt, but they
won't help either. I now only take a mult vitamin every
day. I am older now and feel that I need to take something
especially for extra calcium. I asked him if I should
take extrac calcium too and he said no. So I am trusting
my doctor. I have bone loss in my knees and I also asked
my orthopedist and he said it wouldn't help and I trust
him too. So everyone is different, but I've read so many
articles about vitamins and they all say diffent things
and there is no proof that they help so if it makes you
feel better for yourself than you should take them.

Maybe it is all in my head about the vitamins making me feel better. My beloved Mother is 83 years old and does not take vitamins and never has. She does not have osteoporos or any vitamin deficiency. She is very healthy. I hope I can be as healthy as she is when I get 83. Thanks for taking the time to leave a response.

I don`t take vitamins because I have very high immune system. And even if I had to take, I would not be taken.
Instead of taking vitamins, eat fruits, vegetables and cereals, containing what u need. You said that u take Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin E, C. .. you know that you can take and otherwise?
Magnesium is found in whole cereals, oil fruit (nuts, almonds, hazelnuts), chocolate, legumes (white beans, corn), spinach, avocado, broccoli, apples, bananas, citrus fruit, some mineral water and some seafood (snails marina).
Calcium is found in milk, cheese, yogurt.
Vitamins you mentioned can be found in most fruits and vegetables ...
I do not agree with medicines, at least if you can replace with anything else. Why risk them when you can eat healthy and alive healthy?
Way, fish bones are very rich in Calcium. Of course, not all over ... just sardines and salmon :D

Since I do not eat right sometimes that is whay I take the vitamins. But, I guess from your info that if I eat more of those foods that I would not have to buy the vitamins and pay money for them. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Vitamin B complex. I will look for these on the vitamin aisle. I appreciate your info on the vitamins. I haven't thought about taking the B vitamins.
