Hello, I have been diagnosed with type two diabetes. I am now on Novo-Metformin. I hate taking pills but I guess it beats the alternative of just getting worse. Has anyone had problems with this drug? I get a little anxious when on it but wonder if its just in my head. I loved to hear how others are coping.

I started taking metformin (1000mg twice a day) several months ago myself. along with (when I) watch my carb intake I find that my mood is actually better. even with the meds if I "fall off the wagon" and eat sweets, or too many carbs my mood typically turns to the dark and agitated side. the thing I immediately notice with metformin and watching my diet closely is that I don't have the craving for water, and don't feel dehydrated all the time. metformin isn't for everyone. sometimes it doesn't help at all. for me it is a good match. I don't have any adverse effects or reactions to it. while I'm not a doctor, I have studied herbs and vitamins over the years, and I find that a good (even store brand) B-complex will definitely help with stress and anxiety. hope this helps. :-)

Thanks for sharing. I have to embrace a whole new lifestyle and I look forward to the positive changes, although sometimes old habits are hard to break especially when I see those junk food commercials that somehow I've become addicted to. My father swore by vitamins too and I do find them and exercise much better for my mood also. Thanks again.
