non-profit organization for kids

my friends and i are planning to start a non-profit org for kids. we would appreciate your comments, suggestions, experiences, etc. regarding organizations like this. thanks a bunch for your time!

I sponsor a child via World Vision Philippines. Perhaps you can check out their website to get some ideas.
On top of my head, I would suggest you start small. Take only a few children under your wing initially so that you are not overwhelmed when you find out little by little about all the other things you need to do to make everything work.
Make a website and include there your vision, your ideas, etc. Be transparent as much as possible so that you come out as a trustworthy group. You'll get more outside help that way.
Then, post the link in networking sites so your friends and family can see it and help spread the word.

thanks for your advice! i just checked out world vision philippines and their organization looks good. we're planning to volunteer first on bahay tuluyan. it's much smaller than world vision i guess. and we'll try to see how things work around there as well.

i'm sorry but we haven't formulated the mission/vision of the org. yet. the idea is still very general. our main goal is posted above. maybe you could suggest or add anything that comes to your mind. thanks again!

That sounds very interesting. What would be the main aim of the organization ? Will it be international or national ?

we would like to start small. and that means it would be here locally in the philippines at first. our main goal is to help street children get out of their street life and let them have a more positive outlook in life.
