Hi ther mylotters!!!! Im just having my first cup of coffee and thinking what shall I have for breakfast. Should I have bread or rice. I live in Japan and we have rice for breakfast, with nato (cultured beans) and fish and eggs and miso soup. I also love having garlic rice and bacons for breakfast. toast with butter is great too. Im just wondering, do you also have rice for breakfast. They say "breakfast is the best meal of the day" so have to take it heavy, it like gasoline for a car. What to hear your response. Have a nice day............

I do know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I rarely have it because I usually wake up and rush off to work or to school and have no time for it. Sigh. It became a habit and I will not have the appetite for breakfast most of the time.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I eat it about 3 times a week. I am just not hungry when I wake up. But one day a week I will splurge and have hash browns, eggs, bacon or sausage and toast. The rest of the time I have cereal, or oatmeal or toast. I would love a big breakfast everyday but then I would never be able to leave my house or bed! It would take 6 firefighters to lift me up! lol Anyway, I have to really watch it!

I like rice for breakfast too. It is such a delicious food if we know how to prepare it with various recipes, isn't it? I like to see Japanese food because there is so much color and varieties of food to choose. However I haven't really tried to sit down in a Japanese restaurant and try a full course menu, so I don't think I am qualified to say or comment anything on Japanese food. As for me, I am also an Asian but I am from Malaysia. Here we eat rice too. It doesn't matter if we eat it in the morning as breakfast, for lunch and for dinner too. Here if the rice is meant for breakfast, we will fry is so we call it 'nasi goreng'. For lunch we often boil it plain, and it is called 'nasi putih'. 'Nasi putih' is eaten with varieties of other dishes such as fish, chicken, meat, eggs, vegetables and seafood. Some of the dishes for lunch are curry, soup, steamed fish and fried vegetables. There are a lot more but the list will be endless. As for dinner the menu is the same as for lunch. I like taking breakfast eating heavy food. I can't just eat a slice or two of cookies. Usually I must eat some noodles, spaghetti or fried rice. If I have to eat bread I will eat more than two slices. In the morning energy is important for me that's why I eat a lot.

Hi koiko'..I have to admit I do not eat breakfast mainly as I do not feel hungry first thing in the morning..if I do then I will have a slice of toast..really I don't eat a lot at all even though I know I should..it isn't because of an eating disorder guess it's because I really don't get hungry...your friend littleowl

Hi there littleowl. I think there are a lot of people no taking there breakfast every morning, or if they do have breakfast its just a coffee and toast. That just shows how busy people are now a days. But as long you survive on it its okey, and of course you do have a heavy lunch then. Thanks for the response. Good day to you.

My day is actually going to end as of this point but it is breakfast time here in the Philippines but I work in the night shift so I go home in the morning. I usually eat ham sandwich. I also cook fried rice with hotdogs and eggs in it. Sometimes I put some ham and carrots too with Milo Chocolate mixed with milk and sugar. Then it's a perfect breakfast. As for my daughter we feed her with cereals and milk. My husband likes to eat sandwich with mayonnaise in it.

Hi there Yuna15. Thanks for the response. Well my favorite breakfast in the Philippines is hot pandesal with dairy cream, then isawsaw sa coffee, wow delicious. I also like hot pandesal with coco jam. Lots of bread here in Japan but nothing beats the Philippines hot pandesal. Have a nice day.
