do you still take your temperature when you feel you have a fever?

i rarely get a fever, but when i do, i do not usually bother to take my temperature. but we do have thermometers at home, three of them, actually (two mercury and one digital), for taking my baby's temperature when she experiences a fever. i think grown ups do not take their temperature anymore, at least not in our house. but i may be mistaken, so i'm asking you guys. do you still use a thermometer when you have a fever?

No I don't and even on the kids. I think I have already gain the knowledge on how to take the temperature without getting a thermometer, but of course, when it really is so hot, I do use one. but I really can tell if my kids have fever and if it really is hot enough to use thermometer. As for me, it also depends on how hot I am. There really are times when we feel that there is a need to get one when the fever is still not reacting to medicines. In this case we have to jot down the temperature to know what is the reason of the fever. AS of the moment we don't have in the house

yes, I still take my temperature when I think I have fever to know whether it's low grade or not and when to take medicine for lowering fever. Many years ago i was monitoring my temperature, I had 39 degree something fever, when the thermometer hit my thumbnail and it broke and the mercury ran off in diferent directions on my blanket that I had a hard time gathering the "particles" and after sometime of making it "one" my fever's gone because I was sweating all over

that's a funny fever story you got there. anyways, i have broken several thermometers in my lifetime, too. but never on my blanket. i guess there's always a first time to everything. LOL!
when i have a fever, i usually just wait for it to subside and not drink any medication as i do not want my body to be dependent on medicine.
