So, there are a lot of people here on mylot. Lets see how many different types of music we all listen to. I really like old Rockabilly music and music from the 50s and early 60s. What do you prefer to listen to? Do you have a favorite type of music or do you listen to it all? Do you have a favorite artist or song?

I love the music from the 80s, mainly pop, 85% of my cd collection and certainly on my Itunes I have 80s music, I don't like music of today. I love groups like Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Roxy Music, Level 42, Chris Rea, that was a wonderful decade for music for me, mainly because I was brought up mainly on 80s music.

I also really enjoy the 80s pop music. It seems like everyone was happy then. All the songs just semm really upbeat and positive. Good choice.

I love most music. Except screamo, metal, and country. Usually my taste changes week to week or month to month. Right now I'm really into Brandi Carlile, Nora Jones, Dave Matthews. That kind of thing.

For me, I basically like most types of music, as long as they are soothing and pleasing to listen to. My top favorites are oldies and Gospel music, and I totally avoid meaningless or distasteful music like heavy metal and songs/music with just screaming and shouting. As I mentioned before, one of my favorite genre of music is oldies, and as such my favorite artist and band are also from that era; my favorite artist is Elvis Presley and my favorite band is The Beatles! But nowadays, I tend to listen to all sorts of music because I am beginning to appreciate what other genres of music can offer to me. Besides, I am passionate about music, so I guess it's only fitting that I try out everything that music has in store for me!
