pumpkin

This year I have been DREAMING of making pumpkin spice cookies and roasted pumpkin seeds...problem is...I didnt have a pumpkin, and momma said they were to expensive... but a man from our church GAVE one to me :D *so happy* so mom is gonna make a couple pies out of it and I will have some to make my cookies *even happier* but she nor I have EVER made anything from a real pumpkin before...so we dont know how to make it mushy and unstringy...anybody got any tips?

I can't comment on the pumpkin, but it sounds good. I love squash and zucchini with tomatoes, onions, and a bit of hot pepper. Or baked squash with brown sugar and bitter. Yummy. Too bad my family doesn't like it so well. I have to make such small amounts because of that fact.

Hi SavyPat, Oh that sounds yummy, I will try that. We were growing pumpkins this year but the slugs got to them, will buy though as cheap enough at the moment. Sorry I don't have any receipes to share. Huggles. Ellie :D
