All our lives, we are told to go to school and study hard, because it is the only way to succeed in the world. But then again, all the most successful entrepreneurs I know, have never even finished high school. Do you think education has anything to do with being a successful entrepreneur?

Thank you, that is exactly the way I think. If you know you will be able to live your life with your "entrepreneurial spirit" like you say, why not give it a try. Are you one of those entrepreneurs? Would you personaly stop school?

Actually no. I believe that every individual has the capacity to be an entrepreneur depending on their needs. Usually, the needs to survive is the pushing factor why most people become entrepreneur. There are a number of poor who are now known as one of the well-to-do entrepreneurs. In my country, a number of entrepreneur is serving as the building block in the business community like John Gokongwei Jr. and Henry Sy. They were able to experienced the hardships but it did not stop them from pursuing to be better entrepreneurs. They only learned the theories when they went to school, but the entrepreneurial skills is something innate to them.

You make a lot of sense in your reasoning, thank you very much for the input. But if for example, you are a successfull entrepreneur, would you continue school?

Back to my fathers days, all you need is skills and knowledge. But now due to times and technology is changing, you not only need this two criteria but you also need the education to show your customer what you had really learned. So you going to be a boss of your own?? Let's share and discuss.

Well yes, I do want to be my own boss. I think that is the only way of being successful in life. I think that by working for someone else, you miss out on many opportunities.

Education is a must, well last donkey years back at my dad's year. They only had the knowledge and skills to built up a career and a business. But now times have change, technology has increased to another level. And now is the tech age, so not only skills and knowledge is a must but an education is a proof to show others what you really had and learn.

Study hard will lead to more stable life but may not ensure your success in life. I think one should finish certain level of education as this allow them to support themselves financially and ensure their subsistence. But, education may not lead one to be a successful enterpreneur. What if you can't be a successful enterpreneur and you are without any qualifications?

Thank you very much for your input. You make a good point in your last sentence, but what I am wondering is... if you know you could be a great entrepreneur, would you need to continue school? This person I know, just started a company with his brother. He is very succesfull. Nonetheless his parents think it is better for him to stay in school. What should he do?

if you only think that you can be a good Entrepreneur, but you dont have the capabilities or characteristics of an entrepreneur, you will be nothing. so, going to school is one way on how to mold yourself and learn a lot on the does and dont's on becoming a entrepreneur. at the end of the day, if it is your destiny on becoming one, no matter what you will do, you will become one. but, of course, it comes with hard work, a lot of it.
