does anyone have time to use a sewing machine anymore?

My sewing machine is old and not good any longer and I do need a new one. My mother was a great seamstress and I picked up on sewing from her. I used to sew a lot, I made clothes for my children and myself. When they got older I didn't sew as much except for myself. Back then yes it was cheaper to sew the clothes than to buy them but not sure about now, I would think it is still cheaper. I did make my youngest daughter's dress for her prom and it turned out really nice. I have also made quilts with a sewing machinie.

I have a sewing machine, but it's not a proper full size one. It does the trick for little things here and there, but I've only used it a handful of times since I bought it just over 3 years ago. Maybe it's been 4 years now? I don't remember anymore. lol. I only paid $40 cdn for it, and it came with a large selection of colours of threads, both on spools and in bobbins. I had this fantastic idea to sew up little stockings, and create a garland with them and some adorable mini clothespins I bought. But it never happened. It will someday... but I just don't feel like taking the time to fiddle around with it right now.

I used to make quite a lot of my childrens clothes when they were small. It was much less expensive to make the clothes rather than buy them in shops. Now all I use my sewing machine for is repairing clothes. I don't think my home made clothes would be suitable for adults as I am not great at putting the finishing touches to them.
