Photography is a great hobby... but it's also a very expensive hobby! DSLR cameras can range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars for the body alone! Then lenses cost a few hundred dollars each (or even several thousand dollars for some really high end stuff!) Buying a flash is going to be another few hundred dollars. And chances are, you'll probably want multiple flashes to sync to your camera and light your subjects from different angles. Filters can cost around $20-$80 each... or a lot more for much higher end equipment! A tripod can range from a few bucks for a really cheap one, to several hundred dollars! Then you need a bag to put all your equipment in! It really adds up.
That's why I sell my photos for money. Not necessarily because I want a photography career, but more because I just want to be able to afford to keep up my hobby! Luckily there are lots of really easy ways you can make money online with your photos!
When I first started out in photography, all I had was a cheap point and shoot digital camera. I started selling some of the photos I took with that camera on http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=2197 and within a few months, I'd earned enough money to buy my first DSLR.
You can also upload your photos on http://shareapic.net/ref.php?owner=trickiwoo and get paid everytime anyone looks at your photos.
And I also make hundreds of dollars from entering my photos in competitions on http://skillfights.com/signup?ref=294 That site pays you for participation, so you don't even need to win the competitions to make money! You get paid just for entering them!
