Kidney Stones and Pain

October 21, 2008 8:03am CST
I am experiencing my third Kidney stone and the pain is almost unbearable. The doctor has me on Morphine but it's making me stomach sick and dizzy. Being in labor didn't hurt as much. This particular stone is 3.5mm in size. Not as big as the other ones I've had in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions on pain management for kidney stones????

Good morning Cristobert, Thank you for asking. I am still in pain unfortunately. Along with the kidney stone that just won't go away I now have a condition called Diverticulitis. It is a rupture in the colon. The pain is just awful. They have me on two antibiotics, an anti-inflammitory and a pain killer. It's been a week now and the pain is finally easing off. I should be feeling better in the next week. Along with the meds I've had to increase my fiber intake. So this all should go away soon. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to ask. PP

Very Sorry to know that the stone has not moved yet. I've heard of a very natural therapy and I've started on it already. You need to take a lot plantain pith. That is the central stem of Banana Plant. It will be long white tubular fleshy and fibrous stuff. You can eat it raw by marinating very small pieces in Curd/Yogurt. Or extract the plantain pith juice and drink it. It is a very good diuretic. Try it it has no side effects.

sadly, we have the same pain. I know and feel what you feell right now. But the advise i can give you is this, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Here is the one i will suggest to you 6 day home treatment. 1. for the first five days take 4 glasses of apple juice everyda (1 cup is equal to 250 ml) Or eat four or five apples whichever you prefer. apple / apple juice softens the gallstones. During the 5 days eat normally. 2. On the 6th day take no dinner. 3. At 6 pm take a teaspoon of Epson Salt (Magnesium Sulphate) with a glass of warm water. 4. At 8 pm, repeart the same Magnessium sulphate opens the gallbladder ducts. 5. At 10 pm take half cup of Olive oil or Sesame with half a cup of fresh Lemon juice. Mix it well and drink it (approx. 3 lemons) The oil lubricates the stone to ease their passage. Sleeping position: YOu should sleep on your right side the whole night. The next morning you will find green stones in your stools. "Usually they float. Chiu Nan notes, "You might want to count them. I have had people who passes 40, 50 or up to 100 stones or more." even if you dont have symptons of gallstones or kidney stones you might have some. It's laways good to give you gallbladder clean-up now and then.

First off, call your doctor and get a different pain med. The morphine isn't working and if it is making you sick, there is no point in taking it (you could be having a mild reaction to it or it may be the wrong dose). When I had major kidney pain I was always prescribed percocet. Or skip the major medicines all together and take some Tylenol or ibuprofen (sometimes works better than the stuff they prescribe). Secondly, have you tried warm baths or heating pads? That helped me out a lot.
