I dont think ill ever want to be a solder it just to much hard work and I dont think I can last months without spending time with my family. I would hate to go over to iraq for months at a time that would be just to much for me and I would get home sice very fast.

Hi arcidy, I think no one in this world leave their home and stay for years.Everyone are home sick.It all depends the situation we face.May be today the troops may be in iraq, but it is not quiet sure that they always be.We should respect our troops for the sacrifice they are doing. We even caught buy it with the money too.

I am not in the military, nor would I like to be. However, my husband is in the Marines and I am very proud of him. Its definitely NOT easy... and I know I couldn't do it. But I feel as if I sacrifice for this country like they do (in a different way, obviously), because of all of the sacrifices a military wife makes.

When I was young I dream of being an officer and serve my country, but when I grew up I realize that I'd rather not be a soldier as I saw how my dad miss all the special occassion in our family because he is a policeman.

Hi dhedows, You said is absolutely true. Tell my salute to your dad for the help he is doing to our country as a social worker and you should be proud to be a child of him. have a nice day.

I tried to enter navy but am rejected for poor eye vision. Given an opportunity I will be in navy. It is not exactly soldier job but I got a fascination towards navy and would like to defend the sea.

Personally, though I am a fighter, and might consider a career as a mercenarie, I Dont think I could handle the army, mainly because I have looked into a lot of what this country fights over, and the residents here, and I'm sorry I'm not willing to lay down my life for THEIR purposes, for absolute true freedom I think I could. but not for what THEY call freedom, that doesnt mean I dont respect our troops, I respect em to the high heavens, I may not believe in their cause but odds are as far as they are concerned they are fighting for my freedom, and willing to lay down their life for that, and for that, I have high respect for them, and would support them more than with words if i really could... I love my country, just not my government.

I would like to be a soldier. maybe after 2 years I will try my career in serving my countrymen. Unluckily, my dad discouraged me before not to get in the service because he experienced it first hand. He is a former soldier and resigned lately. He told me it's really hard and I need to be someone else I am not. maybe, he just want to help me figure it out. Still, I will try my luck 2 years from now.
