In the following four part series the author discusses the issues and how Barack Obama, who tries to promote himself as a "healer" and "reach across partisan lines" type of guy. Problem is, his record, which speaks for itself, is in direct opposition to his rhetoric! I'll let you read for yourselves!

I really do not see him as a healer or being able to reach across party lines enless he is going to be willing to compromise on some of his issues so that both sides can be happy. Do you see him moving more to the center? I don't.
I knew he was just like all the rest when he spent most of the primary and the general preaching against lobbyist and special interest groups then voted for the bail out with all those earmarks and pork barrel spending. He did not stand up for up and fight it then and he will not do it in the future. He is just telling us what we want to hear to get him elected. Just like the rest of them.

Lilwonders,
Thanks for the comment.
Yes, and the real funny (funny weird not ha ha)thing is that his record shows this to be without a doubt his real political stance. Not just left leaning but so far left he is in foul territory, and still people believe his rhetoric about "change" and "unifying", AMAZING!

yep you are correct. He is way out there in left field. Yet somehow a lot of people think he is more to the center. It suprises me. Just look at his record. He will not be able to unite the country because republicans will not like his ideas which means a lot of america will not like him. Hence we will not be united. Anyone who thinks he can united the republicans and the democrats is fooling themselves. He is way too far to the left to accomplish it.

You're right. The one who has the record of bucking his party and reaching across the aisle is McCain. He also has a record of serving the country and the people, whether or not doing so makes him popular.
It worries me that so many Americans have embraced Obama's idea of stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor. That isn't how America was founded. It's such a socialist way of governing...and people don't seem to see.

Kenzie,
Thanks for the comment.
The real problem I see with redistrubution of wealth is not that the rich cannot "afford" it but that the ramifications of the whole "robinhood" approach. This type of approach to our economic situation will only backfire and make our moderately poor jobless, homeless and destitute since the rich will do whatever it takes to protect themselves and offset the higher taxes!
I thought it real telling that instead of fighting for better classrom environments and certified and re-certified (after a set number of years) teachers, Obama felt it necessary to "scratch" the back of those who had helped him, namely the teachers unions! Make you wonder what might happen with all of those foriegn "contributors" to the Obama campaign?

Obama is characters as this great uniter yet when asked what has he ever united anything the same group of people cannot answer the question. When asked about Obama's tax cut plan all you will receive is the rich needs to be taxed more, and I pay currently to much. When you bring into the argument Clinton taxed you high than Bush did, under Bush you received a tax cut, them come back with well the rich got more. This argument sound more like a divider not a uniter. What Obama has done is pit two groups of people against each other. Yet the strangest part of this argument is Obama is going to have to raise taxes to pay for all of his spending plans, but I digress.

Gewcew,
Thanks for the comment.
I agree, many people who are supporters of Obama are bitter even thought they recieved just as much, percentage wise, of a tax cut as the rich! Of course the rich will always get a bigger tax break monetarily simply because they PAY more! The liberal left has cultivated and fertilized this rich/middle-poor class battle so cleverly that people don't even see the real falicy in Obama's plans! When he starts taxing these businesses more, the goods or services they provide will ultimately cost more and THEN guess who is paying those higher taxes? That's right, the poor/middle class consumers!

Sowell lays it all out very cleanly and logically, with no room for argument.
The 0bama faithful don't want to hear the truth, because the message of change is more important than the reality of the man.

Destiny,
Thanks for the comment.
I believe Sowell said it best when he said that nothing McCain could say or do could convince him to vote McCain but rather what Obama is lacking was the deciding factor.

Nothing new. All politicians are the same the world over. It is a choice between the lesser of two evils. No one is above board these days. Everyone has some or the other issue on which you can catch them.

Mercuryman,
Thanks for the comment.
What you say is mostly true. Today you just have to choose the one who best lines up with your beliefs and ideals and hope he/she will follow through with maybe 50% of his/her promises.
