Well I dont think your observations apply to the rich alone Bala...
I think this is something most of us do all the time, when we go shopping. In some big shops there is no discount or bargaining, and I end up buying things that I need or which catch my fancy,at the cost price.
But when I come out of the shop,I begin to have a nagging feeling that perhaps my purchase was not worth the money I shelled out.....So often when I go to smaller shops where bargaining is possible,I try to make up for my over spending in the bigger shop,by bargaining unnecessarily for small amounts......Its just human tendency I guess.....

Simply because it's much easier to spend money than earn it. So a penny saved is a penny earned. On a more serious side they find it easier to bargain on petty things. Sometimes you get the impression that it is being penny wise and pound foolish.

I know a person like this ,and until now I don't understand the logic of this type of behavior.

hi balasri as I havent been around many really rich p eople I am not sure why they do that unless they think they are showing how rich and important they are. Most people just look at them with pity and wonder why they are spending money on junky or unimportant things. The few rich people I have known dont do this, instead they buy more expensive, more worthwhile things as they know trashy items will be more expensive in the long run as they will wear out or break and all have to be replaced.these are the people that became rich because of their own work, and they ten to be very careful with their money as it took some time to earn it and to become very rich, too.
