This study on healthier.com really made me stop and think. I have had a few friends commit suicide over the years. I can't imagine the depth of hopelessness one would have to endured to be able to commit this act. "The suicide rate in the United States is increasing for the first time in a decade, particularly among middle-aged white women, a new study finds. 'This is a group we haven't had as much focus on in terms of suicide, because the death rates were higher in elderly white males, and there has been a lot of attention to teenagers and young adults," said lead researcher Susan P. Baker, a professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. "This 40-to-64 age group has been neglected.'" The study went on to say that they really couldn't pin point the reasons, and gave some thoughts on the possible reasons. They concluded that the goal should be to identify and treat people who are suicidal. "We need to understand better those who are suicidal, irrespective of age or gender or race. We need to understand and observe warning signs, so that we can find and refer and treat these individuals before they become statistics," he said. Yeah, I can imagine! With all of the confusion going on about everyone's future, it's sort of understandable! I personally can't do it, but with all of the stress I'm going through with going day by day wondering what's next, after losing this and losing that, and all I have left is my house, which I'm hoping I can save, sometimes I think about it being over when I wake up! Interesting thought, life just goes on n we have to make the best of the situation. Some people are just not equipped to handle life's pressures. Stress is a killer in itself, then to add that to an already unstable mental state is asking for disaster! I'm not saying that it's natural, but in today's state, anything can happen, even to we who call ourselves strong! Taripre$

Thanx Sweetie, I appreciate that! It's like you stated, we have to just get up, deal with the pressure and work it to the best of our ability (not an exact quote). Some things are just out of our control, so pick up the pieces and do our best! Taripre$

Ha, that's funny. Well it isn't.. but what's funny is how hopeless I've been feeling lately. I honestly said to myself earlier that if Obama gets into office I will kill myself, because I will be too petrified to live in this country anymore. As it is life seems so hopeless, and it's only going to get worse. Not that McCain is a whole lot better, but some of Obama's ideas just terrify me. Life hardly seems worth living anymore. We can't afford a darn thing.. can't even afford to survive. And how is it improving? Nobody can really answer that. Nobody is going to make it any better. So what's the point? If it weren't for my family I wouldn't still be here myself. I'd be just another statistic.

The light at the end of the tunnel sure seems a long way off sometimes.

We have to rely on ourselves and our faith to get us through this life cause it sure can be hard! Hang in there, good things will come. It's the cycle.

well, I never have that before. As we all know, the global economic downturn is on its way. More people will have the harder time to live on. so, if you have someone (friends and family members) who is struggling tough moments, please give them a helping hand financially and emotionally.
