We all belong to one or other church. The church is formed on certain common laws and principles. What if you dont agree with what they teach? For example in my church they draw the cross after each prayer. But I dont believe in that. I know Jesus was crucified on the cross but no where is it mentioned that we need to draw the cross in the Bible. What do you guys think. I am a strong believer of the fact that God accepts the prayers of all according to their capacity ...

i've been in many churches that are teaching things that my husband and i don't believe. when this happens, my husband privately talks to the pastor about it to try and find out if they are purposely trying to deceive people or if it was a mistake. lately, we've found that the pastors are purposely trying to deceive people. for example, the one church we were at, the pastor preached that people pray too much and that we need to QUIT praying. We are strong believers that you are to pray. my husband showed the pastor in the Bible where it says we are to "pray without ceasing". the pastor told him that it doesn't matter what the Bible says. When we come to disagreements with the church like this, we leave that church and look for a new one.

That is a strange thing for a pastor to be teaching or saying. It is bad when we meet people like this. The bad thing is they show the people the wrong path and some people do stick to that thinking it is the right path. We need to remeber these people in our prayers too

Not all churches are perfect. However, if a church does not believe in a practice that is important to me or is offensive, then I start looking for another one. I don't believe in being a church hopper, but there are exceptions in some cases. However, if you believe that the Lord has placed you there to being a positive impact in the church, then stay there and ask God to help them see the truth, if they are practicing anything that is not biblical.

Yes I am praying about the same and seeking His will in my life. I know there is so much good in the church and so much I contribute to it.I should probably concentrate on that for now

We don't all belong to one church or another. I don't need church or any god to make me a good person. I don't beleive in any of that stuff at all. Why people base their lives around a book is beyond me but to each their own.

How can a non existing entity improve me? He would have to exist first and I have seen no proof of that. As for the bible it is just stories handed down.

God is not someone who will come and stand in front of you to touch and make you believe. He is all around us. you need to be sensitive to his presence.

It is not just a book but what people have seen over the years. If you dont believe that is fine. But what if you are not believing the right thing???? What if there is truth in the book?? You need to give God a chance to enter your life and perform his miracles. You will be shocked to see how he can make you a much better person.
