Are You A Sleeping Driver?

Have you ever driven a car on a long trip; and after stopping to check your map you find that you've passed a town or location and not remembered it? I've done this, and it is really scarey because you sometimes wonder if you slept through it. Is this even possible?

I drove a truck over-the-road for 13yrs, and this is very possible! But I wouldn't call it asleep! For me it's an experience like, half of your mind is alert and taking care of business, while the other half is wandering around on other thoughts! All the miles I've driven, this is true for me! One thing I like about driving a truck is, that when I started getting sleepy, I would pull over , and sleep and rest, and wake up refreshed! This kept me from never having an accident in 13yrs!

Hello sweet singout, There is such a thing as the town or local not being on the map, yet. Or you could have been in such deep thought that you didn't realize that you have passed it so quickly. I don't think you fell asleep because if you had you would be long gone to the "Sweet By and By" or "No One Knows the Troubles I've Seen". Top those two!!!
