Do you like tripe?

Tripe - Tripe is made up of animal stomachs

Beef tripe is made up of the cow's stomach. Tripe is also produced from sheep, goats, pigs, and deer. I knew that it was appetizing for dogs but I never imagined that there are humans who like it too. Do you like tripe?

Hi Ronaldinu, I used to have tripe on toast with my bompa (grandad) was alive when I was a child but it is not something I would choose to eat now but I used to enjoy sharing my chats with him and as a child I copied what he ate I guess. Huggles. Ellie :D

The only thing I know about it is it's served with scrambled eggs. I think it might be a Jewish dish. My Dad ate it whenever he could find it on a meneu, we never had it at home, but we did eat tongue and it was very good with horseradish.

I used to when I was growing up. My mom would make menudo, which contains tripe. Being a kid all I knew was that it tasted good to me, and I thought nothing of it, so I ate it. But once my husband told me what tripe was I haven't been able to 'stomach' it since. LOL

Hmmm.. If people only knew what there favorite overly processed mystery meat hot dogs were made of..LOL.. Tripe, Ah yes,if you have ever had that wonderful Mexican soup called " Menudo " then there is a good chance you have sampled tripe. Asking a question like " do you like tripe" is like asking " Do you like a snot sandwich"? ew!

Gosh no. That doesn't even sound appetizing at all. I doubt I will ever eat it unless it is put in something without my knowledge.

I've never tried tripe, and don't have any intention of doing so. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to my food choices, and tripe just seems too way out there for me. lol. I do know that a lot of people must eat it, because I've always seen it in grocery stores at the meat counters.

I've never had it and probably never will unless I eat it unwittingly. The name and description really turns my stomach! I know there are dishes made from it and people in certain parts of the world love it but I can't bring myself to even consider it for some reason.

I know tripe is for dogs and I can't imagine myself eating tripe. I don't even eat so much of meat so I think tripe is not for me. Certainly it is rich with uric acid which is not good for my health. Ha!ha!ha! Just leave it to the dogs...that is what I would say! Just give me fruits and veggies and that would be enough for me!

Hi ronaldinu, I heard of people eating it but the thought of it make make stomack(excuse the pun) I wouldn't go any near it if someone offered to me yuk! Tamara

beef tripe is the main ingredient for the Filipino dish, kare-kare. if you've tasted this dish then you wouldn't mind the way it smells while it's cooking. lol!

yes! I love it actually, which is something that surprised me. I tried it when I was backpacking through Italy last May, and thought it was delicious.

I absolutely loathe all offal - including tripe - and can't even stand any sort of meat fat. It makes me gag! I remember many years ago there were some chefs in Australia who did a big dinner event using tripe as TABLECLOTHS! How disgusting - and apparently it stunk to high heaven. They can keep it!

Hey there ronaldinu I know there are very few people out there that do like it as I think it has an acquired taste. I think it also depends on how it has been prepared. I have never tried it myself, the thought of it kinda puts me off a bit, no shock there!! I think I would try it though if someone was eating it and said, here try some it's really good. I will try most things once!
