I find many people in friendster and other sites using pictures of other people, ussually of actors, actresses or other pretty looking people. Is this a way of maintaining privacy or anonymity,or is it to attract other people to visit their profile. whats the point of doing so? What if the real owner of the face doesnt want others using his or her image; or is it a way of stealing one's identity. I find it unfair to use other people's face in place of your's. Do you think so?

Hi kens, yes you are right, many people are doing that as a habit and I think that they are doing that to attract other people to the profile and fool them saying thing that are not the truth or just of making fun of others, I don't think that it has to be with anonymity, I think that the owners of the face have nothing to do about this situation..

they might alert the admins about the bad usage of the profile, and after a while, the profile will be deleted..

Most of the people tries to place other persons images. This is mainly because of the privacy. I do don't want to place my original photo. But as you said if I use any other persons photo, it was something like theft. So I am using my favourite photo in every where which was taken by me in my garden. So when ever if any one look at my profile photo, then they will easily identify me and my privacy is also good. Thank you.

Privacy is really good for us, but using other's image is really not good for me. We can use views such as yours, you dont steal the face of another person in place of yours. Otherwise the owner of the face might think of you as impersonator, am i right? Nice garden view you have there though

oh i too do think so, why do they have to socialize with others without showing their true faces, it seems odd for me, they turn out to be hiding something, why dont they just use other things like cartoon characters or their favorite animal or so.
