My friend have 4 Minature-Dachshund puppies that are almost 3 weeks old.I know it is way to early right now to let their new owners take them. When is the average age they are taken away from their monthers?

Normally 6 to 8 weeks old. And if possible it's actually better for the puppies if they can stay with their mother until they are 8 weeks old. I picked out our dog when she was 5 weeks, and we didn't get to bring her home until she was 8 weeks.

puupies with their mother - a litter of puupies with their mother
the ideal age of puppies being seperated from their mother is around 45 days old or more.... its is direly necessary for them to stay with the mother till that age as they need the healthy mothers milk to build their bones and give them the necessary calcium and other minerals for their proper growth though some people pull them away from their mother well before time which actually harms and puppies and the mothers too as there is still milk remaining in the mother which can cause more harm than good to her body!!

I would definately keep them with mom until 8 weeks. They can gain better health if they stay longer. They can then build up their own immunities better so they will be less likely to get sick.
