Buster is 7 yrs old and he has begun gradually loosing his teeth. He still is a young dog (to me at least) is this normal with havanese? He does have a lot of health problems which he's had since he was a puppy.

That depends. Generally, I would say no. What do his teeth look like? Are they yellow? Do they have plaque? If so, he probably needs a dental. Dogs that don't get prophylactic dental treatment tend to lose teeth earlier. If you have 600 bucks to shell out, he should get one soon.

Hi babytaffster, It is really sad to hear some thing like this.We always loving our pets very much.Sometimes more than our family members. I do not have any pets now.SO i don't know what is the problem with Buster. As the other response says it may be common in small dogs. Even though you just visit any doctor and care what he saying about it. I wish a healthy life to Buster.

I have a 7 year old papillon that is losing her teeth too. My aunt is breeder and says that it is common with the small dogs. I would not worry too much, just watch and make sure that the tooth does not turn black. If it does then go to the vet and get it pulled because it can be infected then.
